The Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a tertiary class A hospital with integrated Chinese and Western medicine integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, and rehabilitation. It is a key integrated Chinese and Western medicine hospital construction unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a hospital directly under the Ministry of Education, and the third clinical medical school of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
The hospital is located in the core area of Beijing’s Ya-Ou, adjacent to the Olympic Park, the Bird’s Nest, and Yuan Dynasty City Wall Ruins Park. The hospital was founded in October 1964. After the Beijing Command Hospital, Beijing Urban Construction Hospital, and Beijing Metallurgical Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Infrastructure Engineering Corps, the hospital was transferred to Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in September 2006 to establish the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The hospital has 520 beds, 30 clinical departments, 5 medical technical departments, 4 outpatient departments, and 3 community health service stations; the hospital has 41 experts with high professional titles, 72 experts with deputy high professional titles, and 72 personnel with doctoral degrees. There are 114 master degree personnel. The hospital includes the Institute of Modern Clinical Application of Jingfang, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
