Charlotte Salomon Elementary School

The profile of our school is shaped by the fact that children with and without special needs or handicaps learn together in all classes. This joint teaching is very important to us. After many years of experience, we have gained the opportunity to support children with the most varied of educational needs, like all other children, according to their possibilities. The two-pedagogue system is standard at our school, which means that two teachers or one teacher and one special needs teacher work in one class at the same time in many lessons. Depending on their needs, they are supported by educators, educational teaching aids, supervisors or school assistants. Since the school year 1999/2000 there have been mixed-year study groups at the Charlotte-Salomon-Grundschule. In the meantime, around eight children of the first, second and third grades or the fourth, fifth and sixth grades learn together in all of our classes. Our school is barrier-free and has facilities for disabled people in many areas. We have been one of Berlin's inclusive priority schools since 2016.
