Design institute is a unit specially engaged in space environment design of high-grade star hotel, public building, commerce, exhibition, office building, theatre, chamber and so on. With Class-A qualification for special engineering design of architectural ornament, Class-A qualification for curtain wall design and Class-B qualification for building engineering design, the design institute owns more than 200 senior advanced and intermediate designers, including various design majors such as architecture, structure, landscape, decoration, building protection, exhibition, electricity, water supply and drainage, heating and ventilation, soft outfit, etc. It consists of twelve design houses from No. 1 to No. 12, one design house for electromechanical equipment, one international design center, one design research center and one soft outfit design center. The design institute undertook or has been undertaking design and detailed design of large-scale projects such as Beijing National Grand Theatre, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Automobile Museum, Shanghai Xintiandi, World Financial Center, Park Hyatt International Hotel, the Expo and the Olympic. It also cooperated with many overseas design teams such as TEAM SEVEN of America, HBA, JWDA, Forster & Partners, KPF, Tonychi, F.R.I. of France, SBD of Italy, SPC of Japan, MAPS of Singapore, LPF of Hong Kong, and won high praise once and again.
